A wart (also known as verruca) is generally a small, rough tumor, typically on hands and feet but often other locations, which can resemble a cauliflower or a solid blister. Warts are common, and are caused by a viral infection, specifically by the human papilloma virus (HPV) and are contagious when in contact with the skin of an infected person. It is also possible to get warts from using towels or other objects used by an infected person. They typically disappear after a few months but can last for years and can recur. Warts are skin-coloured, uneven lumps (non-cancerous) on the skin. Thus, they are skin infections caused by viruses of the human papillomavirus (HPV) family. The HPV virus causes a hard protein called keratin in the top layer of the skin (the epidermis) to grow too much, producing the rough, hard texture of a wart.

Causes of Genital Warts

Like warts that appear on other areas of your skin, genital warts are caused by a virus — HPV — that infects the top layers of your skin. There are more than 100 different types of HPV, but only a few can cause genital warts. These strains of the virus are highly contagious and spread through sexual contact with an infected person. About two-thirds of people who have sexual contact with someone who has genital warts develop the condition — usually within three months of contact, but in some cases not for years.

Warts Symptoms:

Symptoms of common warts include:

1) Small, fleshy bumps

2) Flesh-colored or whitish, pink or tan

3) Rough to touch

There are various types of warts these include: Common warts, a rough surface raised warts and commonly grow on hands, elbows and knees. Smooth flattened warts, called flat warts and most common on face, neck, hands and wrist. Platar warts are hard painful lumps commonly mistaken as callus or corns which are most common under the feet or soles of the feet. Unlike other warts, platar warts grow inwards and painful most of the time. Genital warts, are warts seen on the genital areas, sometimes with itching and burning sensation but most of the time painless but it could also lead to more serious disease and correct diagnosis must be made.

Treatment:

1) You may apply directly on your warts a drop of tea tree oil in a cotton swan. Repeat doing this several times a day.

2) Soak slices of lemon in apple cider. Then, put a little salt and let it stand for about two weeks. After that, you may rub it to your warts.

3) Mix a tea of calendula and two tablespoons of herb in boiling water for about 20 minutes. You may drink the mixture or apply it to your warts several times a day.

4) Cut a hole in a slice of a raw potato, about the size of your wart. Scuff it in your wart once every morning and every evening. It kills the roots of the warts. And after few times of doing this method, the warts will be dark and eventually fall of. Potatoes are recently proven to be beneficial and can eliminate warts.

5) Garlic is popularly known to have strong anti-viral properties that can be used to remove skin infections such as warts. First, apply a small amount of vitamin E oil to your skin. Then crushed raw garlic and put it in your wart. Cover it with bandage for 24 hours. After that, remove the bandage and wait for a week for the wart to fall of.

6) Apply the cream directly from the plant, aloe vera. Aloe vera is known for years for healing warts faster than any. It also helps decrease discomfort feeling.

7) Crushed up chickweeds and apply to your wart. Cover it with bandage and continue doing it until the wart starts to fall of.
